no sugar high without sugar *runs in random directions laughting like an idiot*

ok, I'm fine now... why are you all looking at me like that?

Gosh, I wonder if it is my english or yours that so bad that I don't understand a single word.

I don't understand either:eeek2: .

Btw, watching movies in the original language with subtitles can be helpfull too :sm:  (or Cartoon Network in english... yeah, I'm an addict, so :mdr:  ).

And reading, lots of it. Books can be hard to understand sometimes, news can become boring...

Reading in english is very useful, i've just read the picture of dorian(oscar wilde :transpi: ) gray in english for the school, i learned a lot of new vocabulary (mainly from the victorian era, but vocabulary anyway :-D ).

i also read trasher magazine sometimes. ( a skateboarding magazine that rocks :-D )

I always watch the movies in their original language, that helps a lot (also in spanish :D )

Let's just say I'm more into common talking than conversations that look like they were just taken straight out of a book.

In other words: I write like I would talk and not like I would read a book, which mostly looks unnatural or just like you got a brush up your... errrrr bottom :chinois:

Anyway lemme explain: a sugar high, means that you're high on sugar. More or less acting like you're on speed because you just ate too much of it. The text between the two asterisks states an action made by the writer of the post, as you might know it from various chat programs like mirc (ie: /me is shot )

Now why did I come up with sugar? Easy, it was an aswer towards legame who stated he prefered his tea without sugar. I just wrote the first connection that came up in my mind with the word sugar. There is no explenation to why I did that though, or maybe there is but it wouldn't make any sense. :transpi:

Now you might just think that I'm a total jackass acting like an idiot. Ermmm, well I never said the contrary, can't blame me for having some fun, do you? :p

but if you wanna have fun learning, I can give you one advise, even if it does sound a tid bit stupid in the first place :p

webcomics :p

thanks to whoever linked to http://www.rpgworldcomic.com/ in the funny stuff to share thread, I'm kinda addicted to these now :8 (edit: merci MoiMemePerso :mdr: , février 2004, ça en fait un bail :chinois: )

I'll give you 3 good reasons to give it a try:

1. they're fun, or at least there are so many different styles that everybody finds at least one that they like

2. they're mostly written in the same way people talk, so that's a good practice

3. you'll find words you never knew they existed, and still they are often used

so for a head start I'll give you these two

Uh :chinois:

You're English ?

no, that was more a general point of view  ( you know, like when somebody tries to talk to you in french and you gotta force yourself not to crack up because it sounds so funny :mdr: )

in fact, I never went to England, the US or australia, heck, I never went to an english talking country :p
