Je suis sous une gentoo et je veux me connecter au net via ma carte wifi 2200bg fonctionnant avec le module ipw2200 .

Ce module est chargé ainsi que le firmware , le module ieee80211 , ieee80211_crypt ainsi que ieee80211_crypt_wep .

Je fais donc iwconfig eth0 essid monessid :

La ca marche et c´est pris en compte mais lorsque que je fais iwconfig eth0 key macléwep :

la ca me met une erreur : "Error for wireless reqest set encode 8b2a set failed on device eth0 operation not supported ".

Je tape dmesg et regarde :

eth0 could not initialize wep : load module ieee80211_crypt_wep .

Pourtant ce module est bel et bien chargé !
