mais qui me retourne le nombre de fichiers dans un répertoire.

    Tu peux par exemple utiliser wc pour compter le nombre de fichiers :

    % ls -1 | wc -l

    ...par contre si c'est juste des fichiers (sans les dossiers), il y a un truc à rajouter...
