[Ubuntu] apt-get dist-upgrade

Ben voila: j'ai installé Ubuntu Warty 4.10 a partir d'un cd ensuite j'ai compilé le module ndiswrapper enfin internet marche. Apres je fais une dist-upgrade mais j'ai decommenté seulement les serveurs warty-security dans sources.list parce que j'avais pas vu les autres :iloveyou: ...

Il me fait donc les maj de securité et apres j'ai encore regardé dans sources.list et la je vois que j'ai oublié de decommenté d'autres serveurs donc la je les decommentes et apres je refais dist-upgrad et dans paquets a supprimer ya ubuntu-dektop... c'est normal ca?

Je n'utilise pas une Ubuntu mais une Debian ; effectivement il arrive parfois que apt-get veuille faire dégager des paquets, par exemple s'ils sont incompatibles avec des paquets qu'on veut installer.

Je ne sais pas ce que fait le paquet ubuntu-desktop, et la chose à faire dans ce cas là est de chercher, par exemple avec un

apt-cache show ubuntu-desktop

Si ça n'est qu'un paquet virtuel, il peut dégager. Maintenant si c'est effectivement une dépendance critique de beaucoup d'autres, ça risque d'être plus compliqué.

OK.

Alors pour ceux que ça intéresse quand même :

- inutile d'être root pour utiliser apt-cache :fou:

- attention à ne pas confondre depends et r-depends ! La liste des paquets donnée dans le depends de ubuntu-desktop indique les paquets dont ce dernier dépend, ie, ceux qui seront installé obligatoirement si on installe celui-là. Et on notera que la description indique que l'on peut clairement l'enlever, il ne contient rien : son intérêt est justement cette liste de dépendances, qui consiste à fournir un ensemble de logiciel qui constitue le bureau ubuntu standard.

Note : pour savoir ce qui peut souffrir du fait de désinstaller un paquet :

$ apt-cache rdepends paquet
