Problème avec mon portable

J’ai un PC portable, j’ai dû lui changer le disque dur car il était grillé (IDE IBM 15 Go), le nouveau est un (HDD 4.3Go Toshiba , il était sur un Compac).

Le problème est que j’arrive à installer le système d’exploitation (copie des fichiers d’installation), mais dès que le système reboot, il ne trouve pas de système pour booter dessus.

Que faire, je ne comprends rien !!

    sinon faire un réparation du MBR (disquette, ouille sur un portable, avec Fdisk si c'est un Win98, sinon le CD d'install de windows xp et la commande fixmbr dans la console de récupération)
